TASTING NOTES

NOSE
Rich, sticky black liquorice gives way to warm honeycomb and golden syrup, with hints of toasted malt and delicate almond emerging beneath. A bright lift of citrus peel comes through towards the end, bringing freshness and balance.
PALATE
Salted butter and lightly toasted oats lead into creamy banana, vanilla and a touch of baked pear. Subtle notes of almond and soft caramel add depth, while bright florals bring lift to the palate. The whisky gradually develops into generous organe marmalade, with a gentle hint of candied citrus and warm pastry.
FINISH
Soft nuttiness lingers with gentle oak spice and a delicate touch of citrus sweetness.

Matured for 13 years before a finishing period in Amontillado sherry casks, this limited-edition Tobermory single malt brings together our unpeated island spirit and the influence of carefully selected casks. The finish lends a gentle nuttiness, honeyed richness and subtle warmth to the spirit, adding another layer to its character.

A warm, golden glow of creamy sweetness and delicate florals, like fresh pastry drizzled with honey on a slow island morning. Soft orchard fruits mingle with buttery oats and toasted almonds, while bright citrus brings a lively lift, leaving a gentle trail of marmalade sweetness and warming spice.

The story of Burg gave us a fascinating starting point for this whisky. We wanted to create something that reflects that sense of mystery, with a spirit that feels inviting at first, then gradually reveals more depth and complexity. The Amontillado casks bring a lovely balance of honeyed richness, nuttiness and gentle spice, with a freshness that keeps the whisky bright. Like the folklore itself, there’s more to discover the longer you spend with it.
