Like the Swordstone, this rare Ledaig limited edition is shaped by elemental forces where peat smoke and island air meet the warmth of Madeira wine casks. Crafted from lore, inspired by Mull.

Like the Swordstone, Madeira wine is transformed by heat, shaped by ocean voyages, and steeped in history. A full, five year long maturation in Maderia casks has crafted a bold, maritime whisky softened by notes of honeyed fruit, burnt sugar, and citrus peel.

The Swordstone legend is all about impact - fire, force, and the meeting of elements - and Ledaig's smoky character gives us the perfect base for that. The Madeira casks build out the heat and richness: charred pineapple, dark chocolate, warm spice and treacle, all wrapped around that signature Ledaig peat smoke. There's a maritime thread running through it too, a little salt and burnt sugar on the finish. It's powerful but refined - a whisky that speaks to contrast, just like the story that inspired it.

"This is the first peated Madeira cask finish I have tried, and I'm not disappointed. I love ledaig and the their core lineup is just quality stuff. This should now be included. Classic ledaig Smokey bbq, sweet stewed fruits, honey and citrus, with warming spice, and surprisingly easy to sip despite being a hefty 61% abv. A wee drop of water tames any spice from the alcohol and this remains really balanced overall."

"Inside the bottle you’ll find a young, bold, energetic whisky with a nice smoky touch and a clearly wine-driven aroma profile. Nose: Pleasant earthy peat smoke, a bit of spicy heat, lots of rich wine notes and grapes. A light alcoholic whiff, soft vanilla, hazelnuts, a hint of honey sweetness, plus grapefruit and orange peel. Palate: It starts with a spicy sweetness that quickly gives way to a wild bitterness and punchy spice. There’s a nice alcohol tingle on the tongue and a slightly oily texture. Black grapes, blueberries, unripe nuts, toffee, a touch of cinnamon… Finish: Long, warming, spicy, with winey and woody tones. All in all, an excellent whisky with a beautifully robust 61. 1% ABV."
