TASTING NOTES

NOSE
A rush of dark brown sugar unfolds, giving way to the bright sweetness of fresh strawberries. Velvety vanilla fudge mingles with candied ginger and the rich, sun-dried warmth of sultanas, creating a beautifully layered aroma.
PALATE
A seamless harmony of spice and sweetness, where smooth vanilla and buttery toffee meet the nutty depth of walnuts. Freshly baked cinnamon pastries bring a comforting warmth, while gentle oak and toasted malt add a refined, grounding character.
FINISH
A long, lingering embrace of woody warmth, enriched by the indulgent notes of chocolate-covered hazelnuts, leaving a luxuriously satisfying impression.

ABOUT

Inspired by the soaring majesty of Mull’s white-tailed eagles, Tobermory 26 Year Old is a tribute to resilience, grace, and the untamed beauty of our island home. Once lost to Britain, these iconic birds were reintroduced in the 1970s and naturally found their way back to Mull, which now boasts the highest nesting density in the country. Much like the eagle gliding effortlessly across the Sound of Mull, this exceptional sherried malt reveals layers of depth and complexity, each sip capturing the spirit of the wild Hebrides.

CASK INFORMATION

First crafted as our beloved and now-archived Tobermory 15 Year Old, this remarkable whisky began its journey in ex-Bourbon casks. It was further enriched by spending 11 years in the finest González Byass Oloroso Sherry casks, deepening its complexity and character.

The previous releases in our Hebridean Series have had fruity, floral notes with a creamy sweetness. An additional year of maturation has dissipated this light sweetness and replaced it with spicy woodsmoke and a much heavier notes of dark brown, caramelised sugar, and treacle toffee. This darker sweetness is typical of Bourbon casks, and was unexpected of uncharred González Byass Oloroso Sherry Casks, making it a truly unique dram.
