Our Whiskies

Tobermory has a captivating charm that is simply unique. The same is true of our whisky. Each barrel we create breathes the very essence of our island as it rests; the swirling mists, the salt of the sea, the centuries of myths and legends. To taste our whisky is to taste Tobermory.

Our single malts may be diluted to taste, at which point a wonderful cloudy haze can be seen. This is completely natural, and is a result of our whisky being unchill-filtered. The standard process of chill-filtration is purely a cosmetic one to remove the natural compounds within the whisky, which cause the cloudy appearance.

After rigorous testing, our Master Distiller concluded that the taste and feel of our whiskies were improved by unchill-filtration. This method retains the essential fatty compounds which give our whiskies their superb taste and well-rounded characters. Just as nature intended.
