TASTING NOTES

NOSE
Smoked red fruits burst from the glass, followed by barbecued peaches and ripe plum. Layers of burnt caramel, toasted hazelnuts and dark brown sugar deepen the profile, intertwined with a gentle touch of wood smoke and dried fruit.
PALATE
Rich cherry and dark chocolate envelop the palate, followed by toasted cinnamon and clove. Juicy roasted plum and ripe blackberry bring a rich fruit character, with notes of spiced fruitcake, raisins and dried cherry developing alongside. Roasted coffee and toasted oak add a gently bitter, charred note, while rich demerare sugar brings warm caramel, treacle and a lingering sweetness.
FINISH
Lingering spice, dark chocolate and a gentle smoky sweetness that slowly fades into dried fruit and toasted oak.

Inspired by Hebridean folklore, Ban-Fhaidh's Rebirth tells the story of an ancient seeress whose symbolic renewal in the waters of Loch Bà marks the turning of the seasons, from darkness into light. Rooted in the enduring connection between Mull's landscape and its legends, this tale speaks of transformation, renewal and the promise of new beginnings. As the seasons shift, the natural world follows its own cycle of change, with each ending making way for something new. Part of our Lores of Mull collection, Ban-Fhaidh's Rebirth brings this story to life through a distinctive Ledaig single malt, celebrating the folklore and rich storytelling traditions of our island home.

Bottled at 57.6% ABV, this limited-edition Ledaig single malt brings together spirit finished in Bolgheri wine casks and Spanish brandy casks. Each cask contributes its own character, adding layers of fruit and warmth while complementing Ledaig's distinctive smoky spirit.

Ban-Fhaidh's Rebirth gave us the opportunity to explore the idea of transformation through the character of Ledaig. The combination of Bolgheri wine and Spanish brandy casks brings different layers of fruit, richness and spice, while allowing the spirit's distinctive Hebridean smoke to remain at the heart of the whisky. It's an expression of contrasts, where dark fruit and smoky character come together to create something with real depth.
